He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Darnell and Laura Hunley Darnell; his wife Anna Jane Reed Darnell; and his siblings, Sidney Darnell, James Darnell, Willis Darnell, Mitchell Darnell, J. D. Darnell and Mary Darnell.
He is survived by: his close friend Dale Darnell; his sons, Otis S. Darnell Jr. and Eastman "Rooster" Darnell; his siblings, Bascom Darnell, Kyle Darnell, Amylgene Reed and Zady Mae Reed; and his caregiver Barbara Amburgey. He is also survived by numerous step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Maddox Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
