He was predeceased by : his parents, A. W. and Elizabeth; his siblings, Betty, George, Clyde and Gary; and his children, Jay, Bubby and Aggie.

He is survived by : his wife Ida V. Sweetser; his brother Gene; and his children, Sarah Haight, Sherry Sherman (Kevin), Theresa Sharpe (Paul), Sheena Chevers (Bill), George Jr., Donald Sweetser (Sharon) and John Sweetser (Lavena). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and many friends.
