He is survived by : his parents, Thomas Wayne Bishop and Bianca Marie Bishop; his grandparents, John Francis Castagnola, Marguerite Janet Castagnola, Shirley Mae Thomas and Richard Stanley Thomas III; his great-grandparents, Karen Katherine Utter, George Melvin Bishop and Brenda Sue Bishop; and his pet Coby.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in John's memory to the Fredericksburg SPCA, where his two furry best friends, Coby & Sophie were adopted.
