He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schwartz and Theresa Schwartz; his sister Joan Schwartz Leonardo; and his stepson Anthony Pritchett. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Schwartz; his children, Adrianna Cowan Waddy (Thomas C. Waddy) and Robert Schwartz Jr.; his stepdaughters, Cindy Fayard and Wendi Wolfrey (Conway Wolfrey); and his grandchildren, Mack Cowan, Gordon Cowan, Jackson Wolfrey (Olivia), Parker Wolfrey, Skylar Pritchett, Maci Fayard and Laney Fayard.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (31440 Constitution Hwy, Locust Grove, VA 22508). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Woods Church (1 Church Ln, Locust Grove, VA 22508).
