She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Scott and Ella Scott; her husband Charles D. Perkins; her children, Gary D. Perkins, Beulah Nelson and Charles F. Perkins; and her daughter-in-law Christy Perkins.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ruth, Walter, Theola, Pauline, Kathleen, Arnell, Calvin and Leona; her daughters, Gloria Scott of Louisa and Lorie Smith (Necota) of Greensboro; her grandchildren, Mimi (Scottie), Monique, Wendy (Carlus), Michael (Candice), Kelsey, Kamen (Ayana), Carlie and Carter; and her great grandchildren, Emerald, Bryan (Taylor), Hunter, Carlus, Rylie, Branson, Lillian, Teagan, Lincoln, Skye, Elowyn and Archer. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, extended family members, longtime clients, neighbors, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (102 Meadow Ave, Louisa, VA 23093). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
She supported voter participation, volunteered for the Heart Fund and American Cancer Society, supported various civic and charitable organizations, was a longtime member of the Eastern Star and lifetime member of the NAACP.
