He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend D. S. Dempsey and Avis Dempsey; his daughters, Angie Dempsey, Donna Dempsey and Laura Sechler; his son-in-law Jeremy Sechler; his grandchildren, Tom, Morgan, Becca Brannock, Andrew Dempsey, Ellie (Josh) and Jack Sechler; and his great grandchild Jabari Newman.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor.
