With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Houchens of Louisa, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 20, 2026 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Houchens and Alberta Houchens; his daughter Tameca Mines; and his siblings, Thelma L. Houchens, Timothy and Aaron Houchens.
He is survived by: his children, David Henson (Paulette) and Latesha Johnson; his stepchildren, Tracey, Lachelle and Adrian; his siblings, Lawrence Hunter (Lisa), John O'Dell (Vandelia), Venfert, Reggie Houchens, Patricia, Gladys (Clifton), Connie (Michael) and Cynthia; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Jayleen, Doviah, De'Asia and Tyreese. He is also survived by three aunts, two uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
