He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Withers Ponton and Ruby Gowan Ponton; and his siblings, Mildred Hubbard, Leslie "Buck", Albert "Bunky", Lawrence, Julian and Miller Ponton.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Lunsford Ponton; his children, Steve Ponton (Carolyn), Keith Ponton (Judy) and Cindy Pannell Monica (J. R.); his grandchildren, Ruth Ann, Natalie, Brandon, Becky, Lauren, Ashley and Matthew; and his siblings, Shirley White, Leo (Frances), Douglas (Imogene) and Alvin Ponton. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
