With sadness, we share the passing of Wayne Mitchell Smoot of Luray, Virginia. Wayne, born on May 26, 1949, passed away on November 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Billy Smoot and Helen Smoot; his spouse Shirley Wines Smoot; his sons, Chris Smoot (Tabitha) of Luray and Todd Smoot of Luray; his brother Craig Smoot (Diane) of Frederick, Maryland; and his grandchildren, Chrissy, Maddie, Dalton, Meghan, Josh and Johnny.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Maddox Funeral Home (105 W Main St, Front Royal, VA 22630). A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Washington Masonic Cemetery (19 Fodderstack Rd, Washington, VA 22747).
Memorial donations may be made to Luray Pentecostal Church.
