He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Thomas, Sr. and Ruth Brown Thomas; and his siblings, Pearlie Thomas and Winfred Thomas. He is survived by: his siblings, George Thomas, Carolyn T. Hence (Andrew) of Fredericksburg, VA, Alonzo Thomas (Zanett) of Melbourne, FL and Leon Thomas (Belinda) of Randleman, NC; his cousin Ethel T. Wood of Madison Heights, VA; his friend Pearl Early of Charlottesville, VA; his aunts, Mildred Brown, Ann Johnson and Willie B. Thomas of Monroe, VA; and his uncle Robert Johnson of Lynchburg, VA. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Andrew was named Kidney Dialysis Patient of the Year in both 2007 and 2009 by the National Kidney Foundation in the state of Virginia.
