She was predeceased by: her parents, B. G. Short Sr. and Kate Hutcherson Short; her spouse Reggie Phelps; her siblings, Bryant, Giles of Charles, B. G, Short Jr., Helen Burnette, Lucille Fitch, Ruth Montgomery, Mabel Moyer and Elizabeth Evans; and her stepdaughter Brenda P. Blomquist.
She is survived by: her daughter Brenda M. Johnson (Willard); her granddaughters, Tammy J. Roark (Tracy) and Christy J. Meeks (Kevin); her great grandchildren, Brittany Roark, Cameron Byrd (Cameron), Alex Pack, Brock Pack, Rachel Pack and Mattie Meeks; and her stepson Dale Phelps (Cindy). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
