She was predeceased by: her parents, Coy Collins and Mae Newberry Collins; her husband P. C. "Bill" Smith, Jr.; her son William Joseph "Billy Joe" Smith; and her siblings, Mary Ellen Collins, Jean Alsup and Billy Ray Collins.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Lisa Smith, Linda Gentry (David) and Dr. David Smith (Danyelle); her sons-in-law, James Goff and Ricky Templeton; her grandchildren, Kristen Ramsey (Chris), Amanda McAlister (Chris), Dr. Steven Templeton (Jennifer), Michael Templeton (Katy Templeton), Spencer Gentry, Codie Young, Dakota Smith, Brendan Smith and Greyson Smith; her great grandchildren, Mitchell, Maddox, Miles McAlister, Noah, Harper Templeton and Colton Ramsey; and her friends, Anna Cunningham, Bonnie, Bill Picking, Fay Jennings, Ruth Lowman, Ann Renalds, Joann Austin and Ann Morris. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
