He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin O. Hughes and Victoria DeVese Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Edith Helene Hughes; his children, Calvin DeVese Hughes, Jr. (Gabi) of Richmond, Kip Hughes (Cindy) of Lynchburg and Kay Wyland (Mike) of Monroe; and his brother Hobart Hughes of North Carolina. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lynchburg Humane Society, or the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church General Fund.
