Charles leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Charles’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Charles will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his father Carlos Barnes. He is survived by: his mother Thelma Gill Vaughan (Shaffer) of Roseland; his brother Lamont Vaughan (Kikaxy) of Winston-Salem; his daughter Taniyah Valentine of Bronx, NY; his nephew Shaffer C. Vaughan; his niece Teyanna Benjamin; and his close friend Lisa Johnson of Lynchburg. He is also survived by six step-grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Byrum-Parr Funeral Home (7661 Patrick Henry Hwy, Roseland, VA 22967). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the Oak Hill Memorial Gardens.
