He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Royal and Nannie Inge Martin; and his siblings, Nellie M. Williams, Frank, William (Billy), James (Jim) and Eugene Martin (Jack).
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Tweedy Martin; his children, Cheryl Martin and Gary Martin (Monica) of Lynchburg; his grandchildren, Grayson Martin of Lynchburg, Reagan Martin of Lynchburg and Stephanie Kerr Bernard (Mark) of Lynchburg; his child Jamie Kerr Vaughan (Allen) of Concord; his great grandchildren, Luke, Makinley, Keaten Bernard and Brooklyn Vaughan; and his sister Irene M. Jones of Lynchburg.
