It is with sadness that the passing of Darryl Lewis Bailey of Lynchburg, Virginia is shared. Darryl, born on August 8, 1952, passed away on September 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lewis and Vivian Virginia Roberts Bailey; his sister Beverly Ann Bailey; and his nephew Jeremy Burnett. He is survived by: his children, Christopher Bailey (Grace) and Crystal Zaragoza Bailey (Jose Luis Zaragoza); his grandchildren, Julian Morgan, Caleb Morgan, Rosalyn Zaragoza Bailey, Eliana Zaragoza Bailey and Luka Zaragoza Bailey; his sister Paula Burnett (Jay); his niece Jamie DiNardo (Josh); and his former wife Judy Irene Bailey.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory -Lynchburg (220 Breezewood Dr, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Tharp Funeral Home (220 Breezewood Dr, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Living Word Baptist Church, Friendship Baptist Church, or UW Sports Ministry.
