It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Clarke Almond of Lynchburg, Virginia, born in Appomattox, Virginia, who passed away on May 16, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Wilson Almond and Evelyn Stewart Almond; his sister Barbara Shelton; and his brother-in-law Earl Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Sally Almond; his sons, Alex Almond (Lynette), Jon Almond (Sarah) and Greg Mayberry (Nikki); his brother Kyle Almond (Lynn); and his close friend Reggie Pugh. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: two great-grandchildren.
