She was predeceased by: her parents, Theo J. McGee and Alma T. McGee; her siblings, Theo Jackson McGee Jr. and Emily McGee Peddy; and her former husband Daniel Fred Savage Jr..
She is survived by: her husband Carroll L. Smith; her children, Joan Savage Sydnor (Bob) of Spring Island, S. C., Daniel Fred Savage, III (Stevie) of Lynchburg and Sarah Elizabeth Savage (Sallie); her grandchildren, Kim Szydlowski (Mike) of Williamsburg, Brett Smith (Jane) of New Zealand and Cameron "Kip" Smith (Ginny) of Lynchburg; her sibling's children, Kappa Peddy of Lynchburg Va, Calloway Peddy of Lynchburg, Anna Peddy of Asheville, N. C, Melissa McGee Keshishian, Pat McGee and Andy McGee; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth "Blair" Schulz (Kurt), Clayton Tangen (Travis), Emily Short (Ronnie), Beaton Szydlowski, Kane Szydlowski, Jake Smith (Taylor) and Stephanie Smith (Josh Leslie). She is also survived by other numerous nieces and nephews.
