George D. Malhiot Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George D. Malhiot of Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on March 16, 2023. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Francis Malhiot (Frank) and Roselle Tuohy Malhiot, his wife, Shirley Malhiot, his brother, Francis (Frank), and two of his sisters: Jean Claire Healy and Virginia Cindrich. He was loved and cherished by many people including his children, Mary Malhiot (Michael Handelman) of Missoula, MT, Michele Malhiot (James Rushing) of Lynchburg, VA, Matthew Malhiot (Connie) of Canton, GA, Mark Malhiot (Veronica) of Katy, TX, Marguerite Malhiot of Chesapeake, VA, Montgomery Malhiot (Christina) of Hammond, LA, and Michael Malhiot of Lynchburg, VA.; and his sister, Celina Shema (Joseph) of Freehold, NJ. He was also cherished by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Malhiot had requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wood-Ridge Memorial Foundation, PO Box 282, Wood-Ridge, NJ, 07075; a tax-exempt organization which provides merit scholarships to college students.
