It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hazel McGuire of Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on November 1, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Hazel McGuire to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid Hazel farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Hazel is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband Carlton A. McGuire; and her sister Shirley Martin. She is survived by: her daughter Patricia M Anderson (Thomas) of Lynchburg; her grandchildren, Steven Anderson of Lynchburg and Julie Ritenour (Derek) of Woodstock; and her great grandchildren, Anna Grace and Lucas Ritenour of Woodstock.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fort Hill Memorial Park (5196 Fort Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks others to donate towards the Lynchburg Humane Society or towards a special charity of choice in honor of Hazel.
