She was predeceased by: her parents, Jasper Pettigrew and Martha Dixon Pettigrew; her husband Clarence Govan; her son Michael Gwaltney; and her grandchildren, Christopher Gwaltney and April Gwaltney.
She is survived by: her son Jack Gwaltney, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Angel Hairston of Clarksburg, MD, Patricia Whitley of Wilmington, DE, Michelle Gwaltney of Virginia Beach, VA, Michelle Gwaltney Jones of Bronx, NY and Michael Gwaltney, Jr.. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; 6 nieces.
