With solemn reverence, we commemorate Ida Powell of Lynchburg, Virginia, whose life came to an end on August 14, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, David Reid and Agnes Lillian Miller Berger; and her siblings, Peggy Sue Berger and David Crispin Berger. She is survived by: her husband William T. Powell; her children, Susan Powell of Arlington, Mary Powell Vartain (Richard) of Annapolis and John Powell (Sarah) of Ruckersville; her grandchildren, Catherine Vartain Frilund (Henri), Lilly Vartain Williams (Jacob), Julie Vartain, Jesse Vartain, Michael Vartain, Madeline Powell, Lindsey Powell and Kenton Powell; and her great grandchildren, Sophia Williams and Matthew Williams.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Centenary United Methodist Church (1501 Rivermont Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24503).
