He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry James Bomar and Sadie Henricks Bomar; his wife Arlene Nuckoles Bomar; and his sons, David "Mike" Michael Bomar, Stuart Allen Bomar and Russell James Bomar.
He is survived by: his daughter Ann Bomar Wade (Michael). He is also survived by six grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Chestnut Hill Baptist Church (5225 Fort Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
