Licht (Alice); his stepchildren, Jennifer Hart (Tommy) and Jerry Hart (Diane); his grandson Ness Elias Licht; his stepgrandsons, Brian McChesney, Brandon McChesney and Jerry Hart; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Oliver, Madeline and Allison McChesney; his former wife Beth D. Licht; his cousins, Jacqueline, Virginia Kattenhorn Colgan, John Kattenhorn, Robert Hebron and Richard Hebron; and his friend Phil Gamma.

James also worked at the Goodwill processing incoming donations.
