It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jessie E. Phelps (Lynchburg, Virginia), who passed away on August 29, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore R. Phelps Sr. and Dr. Madelean C. Phelps; his siblings, Billy, Ted, Lewis, Lester and Malinda; and his children, Jesse Jr., Ted, James, George and Carolyn.
He is survived by: his wife Marion Braxton Phelps; his children, Madeline Green (Kenneth) and Donald (Adelle); and his sisters, Mabel Calloway and Harriette Phelps. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
