He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Garvin Preas and Addie Mason Preas; and his children, Joseph Preas Jr. (Junior) and Wanda Preas Jamerson. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Holland Preas of Altavista; his siblings, Ruby Poore, Nancy Rutherford and Carlton Rodgers Preas; his granddaughter Laura Ann Jamerson; and his daughters, Robin Brooks (Ronnie) of Lynchburg, Brenda LeSeur of Forest and Kristy Bryant (Aubrey) of Forest. He is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
