He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Mary L. Culpepper; his son Larnza Culpepper, Jr. (Junnie); his grandson Eric Knutson; and his siblings, Fred Ackers, Alberta Culpepper, Geneva Irving and Murdis Ferguson (Lou).

He is survived by: his daughters, Sylvia Perkins (Darin) of Buckingham, VA, Evelyn Ferguson (Raymond) of Crestview, FL and Regina Taylor (Johnny) of Spout Springs, VA.; his siblings, Arthur Irving (Archie) and Eleanor Franklin; his sister-in-law Stella Ackers; and his grandchildren, Tony McCoy, Jr. (Kimberly), Tavin Manigo, Drayton Ferguson (Jessica), Ladetra Collins (Marquis), Yashika Culpepper, Larnza Culpepper, III, Toccara Culpepper and Tanequa Moore. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
