He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lou Johnson Goodwin; his parents, Clifford Denny Goodwin and Mabel Brown Goodwin; his son Leftridge Layne "Lad" Goodwin, Jr.; and his brother Denny Nickels Goodwin.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Parkins (Chip) of Mount Crawford, Jonathan Brian Goodwin (Lynne) of Lynchburg and Stephanie Lynn Goodwin of South Carolina; his grandsons, Anthony Lee Goodwin (Lisa) of Portsmouth, Charles Curry Parkins, III (Holly) and Clifford Layne Parkins; his great grandchild Penelope Quinn Parkins; Tasha and Ruby.
