He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Haven Gowell and Lelia Frances Burgess Gowell; and his son-in-law Thayer K. Botham. He is survived by: his wife Connie Jordan Gowell; his daughters, Shelley Scranton (Jim) and Sherry Venters Jill (Casey); his grandchildren, Daniel, Lucas Botham, Ana, Ethan, Ivy Venters, Amelia Scranton and Makayla Davis; and his siblings, Rickie Young (Richard), Becky Revis (Kennith), Virginia Caldwell (Ben) and Frank Gowell (Terri).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory (427 Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
In lieu of flowers, Malcolm requested that you take your family out for a nice dinner, and spend time with the ones you love.
