It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matilda Rosetta Scott of Lynchburg, Virginia, who passed away on April 1, 2026, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hylan Pete Hubbard, Jr. and Alean Anna Scott Leftwich; her grandparents, John Daniel Scott, Anna Lee Jackson Scott, Henry Hylan Hubbard and Marjorie Payne Hubbard; her brothers, Eric "Flash" Hubbard and Thomas Scott Cannon; and her aunt Mary Matilda Scott Culpepper.
She is survived by: her brother Hylan "Hank" Hubbard (Ryan); her cousins, Lisa Culpepper-Beverly and Sandra Haythe "Greg"; her close friend Valerie William Martin; her nephew Hylan Hubbard, IV; her niece Carmen D. Hubbard; her close friend Brenda Fletcher Johnson; and her sister-in-law Patricia Cannon. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
