He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin F. Howard and Mary L. Howard; and his siblings, James A. Howard, Roger F. Howard, Benjamin F. Howard, Edward O'Dell Howard and Audrey M. Howard.

He is survived by: his nephew Justin S. Howard; his brother Robert Jackson "Jack" Howard; and his sister-in-law Sybil Nicely. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
