He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Josephus Hunter and Dorthy Harvey Hunter; daughters: Lori Strickland Ramey (Casey) and Kristin Hunter Mays (Mike); grandchildren: Nora Strickland (Danni, and Damian), Thomas Strickland (Danielle), Robert Strickland (Destiney), Hannah Ramey, Katie Mays (Cody, Colton and Kali) and Mackenzie Keesee (Cody); sibling: Teresa Hunter; niece: Morgan Dalton; as well as 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and other numerous nieces and nephews in his wife's family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (20957 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Youth Ministries for future mission trips.
