She was predeceased by: her parents, Byron Rhodes, Sr. and Doris Jean Rhodes; her husband Earl Dennis Cox, Sr.; and her brother Byron Rhodes, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, William Cox (Sara), Teresa Elliott (Steven Blevins), Dennis Cox (Becky), James Cox (Brittney Dillard) and Denise Cox (Dallas); and her siblings, Deanna Dowing, Jean Rhodes (Lonnie) and Jeff Rhodes (Michelle). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
