He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Maddox Coleman; his parent Annie Pearson Coleman (Lynchburg); his siblings, Carl, Ray, Abe, Jeanette, Ruby, Anne and Nancy; his parents-in-law, Elsie and Alfred; and his siblings-in-law, Doris, Daphne, Liz, Richard, Donnie and Buck.

He is survived by: his children, Sandra Coleman and Jeff Coleman (Donna) of Lynchburg; his granddaughters, Melissa Rolfes (Noah) of Roanoke and Cristen Coleman Shaban (Danny) of Wilmington, NC; his great grandchildren, Celeste "CeCe" Mina Shaban, Tristan and Benjamin Guthrie of Roanoke; and his siblings-in-law, Mac, Nowlin, Dot, Margie, Nancy and Betty.
