With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Norma Jean Rist of Lynchburg, Virginia, born in Manhattan, Kansas, who passed away on February 24, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Dr. Myron Kromminga and Audrey Kromminga; and her husband Dr. Boyd Clifton Rist. She is survived by : her daughter Emily Glover; her son-in-law David; her granddaughter Maia; her sister Ruth Irvin; her brother-in-law Richard; and her niece Margo (Scott Baez).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Virginia Society of Ornithology, Lynchburg Bird Club, AAUW, and the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, or to an organization of the donor's choice.
