He is survived by: his significant other Suzanne; his children, Jason Phelps (Melissa) of Lynchburg, Megan Hollopeter (Aaron) of Ohio and Jonathan Phelps (Elizabeth) of Ohio; his grandchildren, Isaac, Kasen, Norah, Kobe, Evan, Austin, Trevor and Kaylee; his mother Edeltraut Phelps (Trudy) of Lynchburg; his mother-in-law Shirley Johnson of Bedford; his siblings, Delmus G. Phelps (Lynda) of Lynchburg, Jac Phelps (Betty) of Lynchburg and Carlos Brooks (Mark) of Forest; and his sisters-in-law, Cathie Burnette (Willie) of Bedford and Diane Johnson of Salem.
