She was predeceased by: her husband Wyatt Rorer Murphy, Sr.; her parents, William Clay Akers and Ruby Munday Akers of Virginia; and her sister Katherine Shelor. She is survived by: her sons, Dr. Wyatt R. Murphy, Jr. of Madison, NJ and Cary C. Murphy (Eileen) of Lynchburg; her grandchildren, Cary C. Murphy, Jr. of Wilmington, NC and Jessica Faye Murphy of Stillwater, OK; and her niece Martha Lea Filson of Lynchburg. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
