He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Shepard and Artie Shepard; his wife Katherine Elizabeth Williams; and his siblings, Paul, Roy, Robert, Lois Steele and Mary Oakley.
He is survived by: his brother Luther Ray; his children, Roger Shepard (Kathy), Faye Lethcoe (Michael) and Norma Lindsey (Eugene); his grandchildren, Angie Shepard, Bryan Shepard, Melissa Carroll, David Lethcoe, Jeremy Lethcoe, Amanda Lethcoe and Cameron Lindsey; and his great grandchildren, Taylor Lethcoe, Katherine Grace Lethcoe, Hannah Lethcoe, Kori Moore, Luke Lethcoe, Cora Beth Lethcoe, Harmony Carroll and Hampton Blessard.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Hill Memorial Park (5196 Fort Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24501).
