He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Edward Hawkins and Helen Nelson Hawkins; and his siblings, George Russell Hawkins, Louie Edward Hawkins (Andy) and Helen Elizabeth Prophater (Betty).
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Metaxas; his daughters, Tracy Graff (Jeff) and Teagan Brooks; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Mark, Andrew Graff, Pierson and Larkin Brooks.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Lynchburg Police Foundation or Lynchburg Area Veterans Council, Inc. or American Legion Post 16.
