He was predeceased by: his mother Helen "Shirley" Thompson Vasold; and his sister Carol Vasold Sparks. He is survived by: his sons, Jessee Vasold and Joseph Vasold; his grandsons, Lucius Fischer, Thaddeus, Remington, Paxton, Quintus Vasold, Dawson and Kai Vasold; his children-in-law, Keith Fischer, Sarah Boxley and Jamie Vasold; and his cousin Maryanne Yergovich. He is also survived by foster child, and numerous friends, family and caretakers.
