Though Roy may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Ben Gillispie Sr. and Bessie Roberts Gillispie; and his sister Jerry Sorrell. He is survived by: his wife Barbara J. Ferguson Gillispie; and his siblings, Frances Chambers, Alseter Revely (Claude), Jane Alice Hollands (Anthony), Annie Hall (Larry) and Dean Gillispie (Darlene).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Community Funeral Home Chapel (909 Fifth St, Lynchburg, VA 24504). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
