With sadness, we share the passing of Ruth Anthony Agnor in Lynchburg, Virginia. Ruth, born on May 8, 1941, passed away on September 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Ruth for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While she will be deeply missed, the influence she had on the lives around her remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. Ruth’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences she brought to the world.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mark Anthony and Ernestine Kirby Anthony. She is survived by: her son James Michael "Hippy" Agnor; her brothers, Mark Anthony, IV (Reba) and James Marshall Anthony (Nancy); her cousin Stephen G. Kirby (Leegie); her grandson Elijah Agnor; and her great grandchild Willow Agnor. She is also survived by two nieces, one nephew, three great nieces, one great nephew, a grandson and a great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Virginia Memorial Park (11490 Forest Rd, Forest, VA 24551).
