He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Gordon Moore, Sr. and Crystal Watts Moore; and his brother Thomas K. Moore. He is survived by: his wife Bettie Carter Moore; his daughters, Melinda Moore Rosser of Lynchburg and Ellen Moore Turner (Randy) of Wake Forest, NC; and his grandsons, Matthew Randolph Turner of Lynchburg and Jacob Alden Turner of Durham, NC. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
