It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel H. Dews (Lynchburg, Virginia), who passed away on June 11, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Henry Dews and Belva Jean Harvey; his sister Ruby Johnson; and his nephew Gary Lee Callaham. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Dews; his stepchildren, Christopher Jones and Tawanna Jones; his granddaughters, Nyema Jones and Jayla White; his nieces and nephews, Lisa Johnson, Quanna Pannell, Reginold Wayne Johnson and T. C. Callaham; his sisters, Rosa Dews Callaham and Theresa Pannell; his mother-in-law Evelyn Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Jones (Angie), Charles Smith, Kimberly Cox, Margie Miller (Jessie) and Patricia Harris. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
