He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hill and Burge Hill of Vermont; his siblings, Edward, Floyd, Robert, Thelma Barricklow, Estell Austin, Alice Kirby, Lois Kershaw and Margaret Almond; and his son-in-law John Matheson.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Phlegar Hill (Pat); his children, Cindy Matheson and Steven (Toni); his grandchildren, Brandon Lowe, Chris Matheson, Patrick Matheson (Cathy), Ashley Hill and Sarah Mihalecz (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Stella, Amelia and Mikey.
