He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Moorman Burford and Vera Hawkins Burford; his wife Ruth Scott Burford; his brothers, Ray and Bobby; and his nephews, Dana and John.
He is survived by: his son Van; his sister Betty of Lynchburg; and his nieces and nephews, Tyler, Asa, Susan, Mary Kay, Tia and Alison.
