It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Welby Sheldon Bailey Jr. in Lynchburg, Virginia, born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Welby S. Bailey, Sr. and Lillian R. Kerns; and his brother Brian Kerns. He is survived by: his siblings, Nanci Woody of Lynchburg, Joanne Bailey of Madison Heights, Virginia and Bill Bailey (April) of Amherst, Virginia; and his siblings' children, Chip Woody (Audelee), Michael Roberts (Mehgan), Brandon Terry (Lauren), Joshua Bailey (Susan), Caleb Bailey, Tracy Coleman (Eric) and Gwen Woody (Joe).
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the El Bethel Church Cemetery (Allwood) (925 Buffalo Springs Turnpike, Amherst, VA 24521).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Madison Heights Youth Baseball Association, P. O. Box 99, Madison Heights, VA 24572.
