He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Howard Magann and Ruby Irene Viar Magann; his brothers, Frank "Sonny" Magann, Elwood "Butch" Magann and Tommy Magann; his granddaughter Morgan Dobyns; and his pet Chocolate.

He is survived by: his children, Laura Magann of Lynchburg, Crystal Dobyns Trent of Madison Heights and Dennis Dobyns (Sandra) of Lynchburg; his grandchildren, Collin Dobyns of Lynchburg, Zoe Bryant (Peyton) of Madison Heights and Willow Trent (Nathan Hansen) of Monroe; and his great grandchild Layne Dobyns of Madison Heights.
