As we bid Cathy East farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Cathy East is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her father Ronald L. Frazier. She is survived by: her mother Elsie Fitzgerald Frazier of Madison Heights; her children, Barbara Fatigate (Danny) of Palm Bay, FL, Jonathan Swift (Christy) of Madison Heights and Jerry Swift (Sharon) of Bedford; and her brother Freddy East. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel (7404 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Spring Hill Cemetery (3000 Fort Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24501).
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to help offset expenses.
