He is survived by: his wife Rachel Beard Carson; his children, Roger Carson (Janet), Lorrie Johnson (Andy), Dianne Ford (Paul) and Mike Carson; his siblings, Morris Emmett Carson, Howard Carson, Herman Carson, James Carson, Sr. and Virginia Harvey; his grandsons, Matthew Johnson (Mary Hannah), Jeff Johnson (Ashley) and Samuel Ford; and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Gideon, Susannah, Carson and Eleanor.
